4 Search Engines That Make Planning a Trip Less Overwhelming

I know planning a vacation can be overwhelming for many people. There are many things to consider, like “How can I make this affordable? Where should I stay? What should I do when I get there?”

Here are four travel search engines that answer all of these questions and make planning a trip less overwhelming:

1. Travel Zoo

I love Travel Zoo as a big-picture overview of travel possibilities. Each week, they publish their Top 20 Deals, which result from searching deals from 1000+ companies globally. Their deals include flights, hotels, experiences, and complete packages. Their Top 20 Deals all include a quote from a Deal Expert explaining why the deal is so great and instructions on how to book the deal.

2. Groupon Getaways

When you think about Groupon, your mind probably doesn’t automatically go to travel deals, but they have many Top-Rated Getaways. It gives you the option to search by destinations and dates. You can also filter by air-inclusive trips, beach, family fun, outdoor & adventure, international & tours, last minute, and romantic getaways. Groupon negotiates directly with hotels and tour operators to obtain their discounts. Their deals tend to last for a limited time, so you must decide fast before they sell out.

Pro tip: Groupon is not only available in cities in the USA, but it is also available in 100 cities in Europe, Asia, and South America. A few years ago, I went on Groupon Italy to book a great deal for a hotel stay in Sorrento. When planning your trip, check if Groupon is available at your destination of interest. Don’t worry about language barriers; many web browsers will translate your webpage for you!

Things to Consider: Travel Zoo and Groupon travel deals are for specific dates and departures from particular cities. However, most will allow you to depart from a different city for a slightly increased charge.

After spending a lot of time on Travel Zoo, I realized many deals were coming from specific travel sites, including Cheap Caribbean and Trip Masters.

3. Cheap Caribbean.com

Cheap Caribbean.com is a travel search engine dedicated to affordable Caribbean travel. I appreciate your customizing the website to show deals from your departure location.

A cool feature of Cheap Caribbean.com is their Budget Beach Finder, which allows you to find deals based on your specified budget and the number of travelers in your group.

4. Tripmasters

Tripmasters operates in Europe, Asia, the Pacific & Middle East, and Latin America. You can search through tons of exciting and affordable pre-made itineraries or build your own itinerary. I used Tripmasters to develop my itinerary to Paris, Barcelona, and Rome a few years ago. It was my first time visiting Europe, and this site made planning a breeze!
